Hectic. Argh.

And I kind of miss Law & Order how it was at the start. Though I love Green.
I never post WIPS because I'm always worried something happens like I lose interest and then I feel annoyed at myself for not finishing it. And the one time I do, hopeful the the reluctance to leave something posted but unfinished would keep me honest as it were, I end up hating the story because it's terrible and unrecoverable.

Should I just leave it unfinished or finish it somehow even if it remains awful?

The Games

.... Are coming. Kind of dreading it since there are so many road closures and restrictions including not being able to park in your own street. But just heard the norovirus has hit the athletes village , nasty!
So after weeks of eyeing up the season one box set of Justified, I thought ok I'm going for it.

Aren't I glad that I did. :)
How can four days pass so quickly?

Admittedly, one evening was spent watching Pasha Kovalev shake it across the stage at a Strictly evening, so I cannot complain.

But I have not written a single thing. This is starting to feel less like writer's block and more like a total dead end.
Just in case, though probably everybody else has seen it - the woes of being so behind with the telly...

And now I have until 2015 to wait until channel 5 screens season 3.

I love garlic.

I love cooking with garlic.

I don't love the way my hands still smell of it no matter how often I wash them.
Today I went into work with a battle plan - I was going to get caught up on my backlog and end the day totally up to date.

Then the system went down for two hours.

When will I learn? :)

And...while I hate Starbucks, the barista there is too gorgeous to be human. He has to be fae or something, I don't know. I literally could not look him in the eyes when he handed over the coffee and I swear my cheeks were burning. I had to just mumble thanks and slink away. WTF.
...and the annoying fact that there seems to be no room in it for fun internet time or for writing.

and I just got my jury service citation through the post. The joys.

Don't they know I have fic to write? :)
We both have it so it doesn't really matter, but someone came up to my mum today and said:

"I'm loaded with the cold, so you'd best keep your distance."

Catch Up!

I must update more often!

But things have all been especially hectic past few weeks.

I'm now into Grimm in a big way, one episode to go on my season one box set, what a gift of a series it is.

Helix, I'm sticking with, mainly due to a certain major.

And I'm glad to see Endeavour is back.

But best of all the second half of POI Season Two has started back.

Hope everybody is well!
I love it.

Got to be honest, given Robin Hood and Atlantis, I was not expecting great things. Even tolerable things. But I was very impressed.

And Athos is gorgeous. Sorry, just had to fit that in there.

Well done, BBC!

So our boss sent out the Saturday rota today. Out of all the Saturdays this year, there are maybe only three that I don't want to work because I'm on holiday that week or I have a prior obligation. Would you credit it, two of them are Saturdays I've ended up rostered on to work. What are the odds?

Now I need to find somebody to swap me!

Mr. Darcy

So, thanks to Death Comes to Pemberley, I appear to have developed an interest in Pride & Prejudice (I've just picked it up from the library, and I've ordered Pride & Prejudice & Zombies - in for a penny...)

Actually, it's more thanks to Matthew Rhys as Darcy and Anna Maxwell Martin as Elizabeth. It's quite an intense drama, and both of them are excellent in it. Whether it can stir in me a liking for the Austen novel, I'll have to see. I tried to read Wuthering Heights before, but Ye Olde English always seems to overcome my desire to read the story.
Belated Merry Christmas to all, and in case I don't get the chance to post tomorrow, a very happy new year and all the best for 2014!

Sad Times

What a few days it has been.

The chopper accident at The Clutha, Lewis Collins, Paul Walker, the train crash in the Bronx.

Sometimes it's hard to see how people find the strength to keep going, not get snowed under by all of it. Not get overwhelmed by the horrible horrible things that happen.

*hugs the world*
I feel very guilty.

A huge - huge, seriously it could have just walked off the set of Eight Legged Freaks - spider scuttled across the floor in front of me and I squished it. I do not normally flail at the sight of spiders - usually I catch them and chuck them out the nearest door / window.

But this one almost made me jump out of my skin.

I still feel very, very guilty.
